<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scintillator which exhibits light emission with high luminance on radiation irradiation, and to provide a metal fluoride crystal suitable for the scintillator. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to a metal fluoride crystal having a composition of LiCa<SB POS="POST">(1-x)</SB>Mg<SB POS="POST">x</SB>GaF<SB POS="POST">6</SB>(0.1≤x≤0.9) and containing a lanthanoid as an activating agent, situations to exhibit light emission with high luminance on radiation irradiation are found out. The metal fluoride crystal is suitably used in an application as a light emitting element, and in particular suitable for a scintillator including the application for neutron detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
