In the present invention, where n is the number of multi-core fibers, the condition under which physical contact is possible is Fp ≥ (4aEαn) / (3(1-ν2)) ∙ (∆1+∆2) + Fr. Further, while increasing the pressing force on multi-core fiber (13) ends makes it possible to cause cores to come into physical contact, there is a limit to the pressing force that can be applied to the multi-core fiber (13) ends. In practice, the pressing force that can be applied to a single multi-core fiber (13) is approximately 4 N. That is, Fpc (N) = 4n. Therefore, (∆1+∆2) (µm) ≤ 29.6/a. Further, if ∆1 and ∆2 are assumed to be the same ∆, the satisfaction of the condition ∆ (µm) ≤ 14.8/a makes it possible to cause all of the cores to come into physical contact. |
