PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording method which is excellent in color mixture preventing properties and scratch resistance when printing is performed on a recording medium having low water absorptivity, and to provide a processing liquid.SOLUTION: The inkjet recording method (1) comprises: a step A of imparting the processing liquid, which contains polyvinyl alcohol having 95% of lower saponification degree, to the recording medium; and a step B of forming an image on the processing liquid-imparted recording medium by an inkjet recording method using a water-based ink containing a pigment on condition that the recording medium and the processing liquid satisfy the following conditions 1 and 2. The condition 1 is that the amount of the water to be absorbed on the recording medium during 100 millisecond contact time of the recording medium with purified water is 0-10 g/m. The condition 2 is that the viscosity of the water-based ink is increased by 5-100 mPa-s when the polyvinyl alcohol in the processing solution is added to 100 pts. mass of the water-based ink by 2.0 pts. mass. The processing liquid (2) is used for processing the recording medium. |
