摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber for a vehicle, which effectively reduces an impact shock, and improves a ride quality. <P>SOLUTION: The shock absorber D is equipped with: a cylinder 1 coupled to a spring lower material of a vehicle; a piston slidably inserted in the cylinder and partitioning the cylinder inside into an expansion side chamber R1 and a compression side chamber R2; a piston rod 3 having one end coupled to the piston 2 and movably inserted in the cylinder, and the other end coupled to the spring upper material of the vehicle; a reservoir R; an expansion side damping passage 4; a compression side passage 5; a compression side damping passage 6; and a suction passage 7. A buffer chamber A communicated with the compression side chamber R2 and sucking a fluid in the compression side chamber, and an inertia valve 8 slidably inserted into the buffer chamber, and closing the buffer chamber, are provided. The inertia valve is provided with a valve body 20 that receives the pressure of the compression side chamber in a valve opening direction, and also receives an inertia force in the valve opening direction when an acceleration in an axial direction and in the direction toward the piston rod side, acts on the cylinder.
