1. A trainable transceiver module comprising:
a housing; a photovoltaic unit supported by the housing and accessible to sunlight; a rechargeable power source electrically connected to the photovoltaic unit; a trainable transceiver electrically connected to the rechargeable power source, the trainable transceiver including a transmitter and a receiver that can each communicate with a home operating system by way of a radio frequency (RF) antenna; and one or more activation switches that communicate with the trainable transceiver to transmit radio frequency signals from the RF antenna.
