PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power conversion device which enables the suppression of the device upsizing.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle controller 20 comprises: a smoothing capacitor 23 for smoothing a DC power input from a secondary battery 6; an inverter circuit 22 for converting the DC power to an AC current, and outputting the resultant AC current to a rear motor 11; and a microcomputer 21 for controlling the rotation action of the rear motor 11. The on-vehicle controller 20 includes a switch 24 capable of connecting the secondary battery 6 to the inverter circuit 22 and disconnecting the secondary battery therefrom. When judging that a vehicle collision is caused, the microcomputer 21 turns the switch 24 off to disconnect the secondary battery 6 from the inverter circuit 22, and issues a reverse rotation command to the inverter circuit 22 to operate the rear motor 11 to rotate in a reverse direction. |
