PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure and a method which enables sealing of a diffusion bleeder for a coke oven at low costs.SOLUTION: In a seal structure, the clearance between dry main 4 which collects coke oven gas 2 from a coke oven 1 and a diffusion bleeder 7 which burns a part of the coke oven gas 2 in the dry main 4 to diffuse into the atmosphere when the pressure of the coke oven gas 2 in the dry main 4 exceeds a specified value is sealed with a liquid 8 to prevent leakage of the coke oven gas 2 in the dry main 4 from the diffusion bleeder 7 in normal time, and the liquid used is ammonia water discharged from the coke oven 1 and having passed an ammonia stripper 12.
