<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing structure of a vehicle body for securing safety of an occupant when an impact load is inputted by a collision from a vehicle body side. <P>SOLUTION: This shock absorbing structure of the vehicle body includes right-left roof side rails 10 of a hollow closed cross-sectional shape, right-left center pillars 20 installed on the right-left roof side rails 10 and a roof brace 30 installed between the roof side rails 10 in response to an upper end position of the center pillars 20. The center pillar 20 is installed on the roof side rail 10 so that a load input point P of the impact load F input from the vehicle body side, is set in an upper position than a height position of the center of gravity O of the roof side rail 10. The shock absorbing structure includes a load transmission member 40 arranged on an inside surface of the roof side rail 10 between the roof brace 30 and the center pillar 20 and transmitting the impact load F to the roof brace 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
