<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate which has high shock resistance when built in an information recording device, and also has a magnetic recording layer capable of high-density recording formed thereon. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a glass substrate 1 which has a front main surface 1F and a rear main surface 2F, and is built in an information recording device 100 as an information recording medium 10. The glass substrate 1 has a chemical strengthening layer 6 formed on the front main surface 1F, and includes a clamped region 1R pressed by an upper clamp member 24 so as to fix the information recording medium 10 in a state in which the glass substrate 1 is built in the information recording device 100 as the information recording medium 10, and a magnetic recording layer formation region 1S which is positioned more on the outer peripheral side of the front main surface 1F than the clamped region 1R, the chemical strengthening layer 6 being thinner in the magnetic recording layer formation region 1S than in the clamped region 1R. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
