<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate, which has excellent fluttering characteristics and a magnetic film of which is hardly peeled off, for a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: Both front and rear surfaces of an internal layer of a glass substrate for a recording medium according to the present invention are coated with a surface layer thereof. A thermal expansion coefficient of the surface layer is equal to 100×10<SP POS="POST">-7</SP>/°C (25 through 100°C) or more, and a difference between the thermal expansion coefficient of the surface layer and a thermal expansion coefficient of the internal layer is equal to 40×10<SP POS="POST">-7</SP>/°C (25 through 100°C) or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
