<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform more natural color reproduction with excellent gradation with respect to data outside an output color gamut irrespective of the color gamut shape of an output device. <P>SOLUTION: An area in a color space in which lattice points of a profile are to be defined is divided, and a moving range of a focal color defined for each divided area is switched. Then, the moving ranges of at least two defined focal colors are set so as not to match each other and so as to have a part in which the ranges overlap each other. This enables data outside an output color gamut to be mapped so that intended color reproduction is realized irrespective of the color gamut shape of an output device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
