Steering column lock (1) for a steering column for a motor vehicle, wherein the steering column lock (1) comprises at least one locking pin (2), which is adjustable between a locking position for locking the steering column and at least one open position for releasing the steering column, and a security mechanism (3), which locks the locking pin (2) in the locked position in a locked state and allows a movement of the locking pin (2) into the open position thereof in an unlocked state, wherein the security mechanism (3) has at least one control element (5) mechanically pretensioned by means of a pretensioning element (4) of the security mechanism (3), wherein in the unlocked state of the security mechanism (3), the control element (5) contacts stop surfaces (6, 7) in a home position in a control element space (8) of the steering column lock (1) delimited by the stop surfaces (6, 7), and is moveable out of the home position to trigger the locked state using different types of displacement or removal of at least one of the stop surfaces (6, 7) of the pretensioning element (4) featuring different degrees of freedom. |
