摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a compression ignition type engine which performs compression ignition combustion in a preset region on a low-load side, for enabling return from fuel cut by means of the compression ignition combustion during the return.SOLUTION: The control device for the compression ignition type engine includes a controller (a PCM 10) for, when the operating condition of an engine body (an engine 1) is in a compression ignition region, allowing compression ignition combustion of air-fuel mixture in a cylinder 18 to operate the engine body. When the predetermined fuel cut conditions of the engine body is established, the controller stops fuel injection by a fuel injection valve (an injector 67), and when the predetermined return conditions are established, it restarts the fuel injection and allows the compression ignition combustion of the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. When a predicted compression end temperature is a low temperature, lower than a predetermined temperature, the controller also introduces ozone into the cylinder at least on restarting the fuel injection, and when the predicted temperature is not lower than the predetermined temperature, it further reduces the amount of the ozone than when the predicted temperature is lower.
