PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination system capable of controlling illumination of a passage space and a display space in such a manner that an article is visible easily in accordance with actions of a person.SOLUTION: A light source part 1 illuminates a passage space 62 and a display space 61 that is provided while facing the passage space 62. A first detection part 21 detects the presence/absence of a person in a detection area that is set in the passage space 62 closer to an article 70. A second detection part 22 detects the presence/absence of a person in the passage space 62. A control part that controls light output of the light source part 1 reduces the light output of the light source part 1 in the case of non-detection when both the first detection part 21 and the second detection part 22 do not detect any persons. The control part controls the light output of the light source part 1 in such a manner that, when the second detection part 22 detects a person, lightness in the display space 61 is increased further than lightness in non-detection. The control part controls the light output of the light source part 1 in such a manner that, when the first detection part 21 detects a person, both the lightness in the passage space 62 and the display space 61 are improved further than that in non-detection, together. |
