PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle that enables early warming-up of a transmission while fuel economy of the hybrid vehicle is suppressed when warming-up the transmission of the hybrid vehicle is required and a method of controlling the hybrid vehicle.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle 1 is mounted with a hybrid system 2 including an internal combustion engine 10, a motor generator 20 and a transmission 30. A control device 40 for controlling the hybrid system 2 includes warming-up necessity determination means 41 for determining the necessity of warming-up the transmission 30. The control device 40 performs warming-up control for driving the transmission 30 by using the motor generator 20 by disconnecting the transmission 30 and the internal combustion engine 10 from each other and connecting the transmission 30 and the motor generator 20 to each other to increase a temperature of lubricating oil of the transmission 30 when the warming-up necessity determination means 41 determines that the warming-up of the transmission 30 is necessary.
