PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting unit that improves the utilization efficiency of light.SOLUTION: A light emitting unit (3a) comprises a fluorescent part (10) and a reflecting/diffusing plate (9) arranged opposite to the fluorescent part (10). The reflecting/diffusing plate (9) reflects laser light (L1) emitted from a laser element (1) toward the fluorescent part (10) and transmits fluorescence emitted from the fluorescent part (10) in response to the application of the reflected laser light (L1).
