PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an electrochemical capacitor of higher capacity which enables stable supply; and a method for manufacturing such an electrochemical capacitor.SOLUTION: An electrochemical capacitor according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: a pair of electrodes opposed to each other; a silver nanostructure formed on at least one of the pair of electrodes; and an electrolyte filled in between the pair of electrodes. Although it is not limited to only this embodiment, the silver nanostructure is preferably a silver nano wire. A method for manufacturing an electrochemical capacitor according to another aspect of the present invention comprises the step of forming a silver nanostructure on an electrode. Although it is not limited to only this embodiment, the silver nanostructure is preferably a silver nano wire.
