摘要 Methods and techniques to increase the reliability of detecting virus infections, particularly lymphotropism, to eliminate false negative reactions in testing blood for the presence of lymphotropic viruses during enzyme immunoassay (EIA) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, and to better detect viruses with lymphotropism in biological materials having a concentration of virus particles lower than the sensitivity threshold of existing EIA and PCR methods, thereby making the techniques of the present invention more reliable.

A method for evaluating the viability of viruses with lymphotropism properties, comprising: sampling a biological material; testing for the presence of viral RNA or DNA within said biological material; acquiring a lymphocyte suspension from at least one healthy human subject; admixing said lymphocyte suspension with an equal amount of said biological material, and incubating the admixture; washing-out lymphocytes from plasma in the admixture, whereby said lymphocytes are destroyed; and testing cytoplasms of said lymphocytes, whereby the detection of viral RNA or DNA in the cytoplasms of lymphocytes indicates the viability of viruses in said biological material, and the non-detection of viral RNA or DNA indicates the inactivation of said viruses in said biological material.
