摘要 <p>A type selection method for a composite insulator in a strong wind area based on inherent frequency and a composite insulator. When selecting a type from among a plurality of composite insulators, the type selection method is as follows: firstly measuring the inherent frequency of a composite insulator to be selected, wherein if the composite insulator has sheds with varying diameters, the inherent frequency of a large shed of the composite insulator is measured, and if the composite insulator has a shed with equal diameters, the inherent frequency of any shed of the composite insulator is measured; and then selecting the composite insulator according to the inherent frequency, wherein the inherent frequency of the composite insulator being no less than 45 Hz is selected and the composite insulator is the one having a corresponding structure parameter. When the composite insulator is applied to a strong wind area where the highest wind speed achieves 50m/s, the problems of violent shed swinging and shed cracking will not occur, and the composite insulator can still operate reliably. Moreover, the type selection method is easy to operate and implement.</p>
