PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information processing system capable of effectively using a capacitance type touch sensor of a portable information processor and a cover for the portable information processor and its portable information processor and its cover.SOLUTION: The portable information processing system includes: a slate-shaped portable information processor having a capacitance type touch sensor on a front surface side; and a cover configured so as to be mountable on the portable information processor, which is capable of opening and closing the front of the portable information processor. Conductive materials are formed in the cover, and the portable information processor is configured to determine that the cover is closed when the conductive materials are detected by the touch sensor.
