A light quantity control unit 7 controls the light quantity attenuation mechanism 2 on the basis of the light quantity received by the detection unit 8, thereby setting an incident light quantity corresponding to the detection unit 8. Thus, the incident light quantity into the detection unit 8 can be appropriately adjusted during spectrum measurement, so that the reduction in linearity and the reduction in S/N ratio can be prevented and the measurement can be performed efficiently.
