PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a texture etchant and a liquid additive agent for texture etchant at low cost, which are proper to uses of a monocrystalline solar battery cell and others, and make possible to readily reproduce fine pyramid-like uneven portions superior in uniformity in a silicon substrate with stability; a texture substrate having uniform fine pyramid-like uneven portions by use of such a texture etchant; and a high-efficiency solar battery cell by use of such a texture substrate.SOLUTION: A texture etchant comprises an alkaline component, and tannin. A liquid additive agent for texture etchant is used for manufacturing a texture etchant, and comprises tannin, in which the concentration of the tannin is 30 wt.% or less. A silicon substrate has a texture formed in at least one surface thereof by use of the texture etchant or a texture etchant manufactured by adding the liquid additive agent for etchant. A method for manufacturing a silicon substrate comprises the step of causing the texture etchant to react with a silicon substrate within a range of 60-95°C. A solar battery comprises the silicon substrate, in which a texture-formed surface of the substrate is arranged at least on a light-receiving side. |
