<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible, in playing back an optical disk, to play back high-grade image signals at a high transfer rate even at a low disk revolution speed and, for this purpose, to limit the length of the user's waiting time by limiting the positions of buffering that is done by using an HDD.SOLUTION: A method of recording digital information on an information recording medium, in which the inputted stream is configured of units called clips, comprises detection processing to detect the highest transfer rate of the inputted clips; division processing to accomplish division, if the highest transfer rate of the clips detected by the detection processing surpasses a preset value X, the clip size including the over-X part to a predetermined size or a smaller size; and processing to add information regarding the highest transfer rate of each of the clips to management information that corresponds to the clips after the division processing.</p> |
