DYNAMIC COMPRESSION COVERAGE

Methods and apparatus are provided for use in compressing packet traffic associated with a user equipment (UE) in a network. The compression ratio is estimated/calculated (A1) for a packet in the packet traffic based on a compression length for compressing the packet. The estimated/calculated compression ratio is compared (A2) with a target compression ratio. The compression length is adjusted (A3) when the estimated compression ratio has not reached at least the target compression ratio. The adjusted compression ratio is used (A4) as the compression length for compressing the packet traffic.
