The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a light output device wherein light output direction can be adjusted; and an image display system. This light output device is provided with: a light source section (6 (6R)) that outputs light to the inside of a region along a predetermined plane; a frame (5) that is provided with the light source section (6 (6R)); and an adjusting mechanism (7) that adjusts, with respect to the predetermined plane, the output direction of light emitted from the light source section (6 (6R)). In such a manner, since the adjusting mechanism (7) that adjusts, with respect to the predetermined plane, the output direction of the light emitted from the light source section (6 (6R)) is provided to the frame (5), a tilt of the frame (5) with respect to the predetermined plane can be adjusted. Consequently, the output direction of the light emitted from the light source section (6 (6R)) can be adjusted. |
