PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal porous body having a porosity distribution in a plane direction.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a metal porous body includes: a molding step of molding a foaming slurry into a sheet shape; a foaming and drying step of foaming and drying the foaming slurry to form a green sheet, the foaming slurry having been molded into a sheet shape; a sintering step of sintering the green sheet to form a sintered body; and a compressing step of compressing the sintered body in the thickness direction until the sintered body acquires a predetermined thickness. In the molding step, a projecting part and a recessed part are formed in the foaming slurry on a carrier sheet to form a projecting part and a recessed part on the green sheet, and the green sheet is sintered to form a projecting part 10a and a recessed part 10b on the sintered body. In the compressing step, the sintered body is compressed so that the thickness of the projecting part 10a in the sintered body is reduced, and thereby a metal porous body 13 having porosities of the voids formed between skeletons different in the plane direction is manufactured. |
