PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To narrow a target market area using local information and various types of data sold in markets and display a target store in the narrowed trade area on map information.SOLUTION: A local trade area specification/retrieval system specifies a market area on the basis of a narrowing command signal input in a data box via input means of a user side, and displays a specified market area on the map information. The local trade area specification/retrieval system narrows characteristics of purchasers in the specified market area on the basis of the narrowing command signal input via the input means of the user side. Further, the system displays a distribution state of the purchasers in the specified market area on the map information and specified the trade area associated with article classification that the user has commanded the narrowing.
