(CARBONATE) HYDROXYAPATITE AND METHOD OF PRODUCING FINE PARTICLE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing (carbonate) hydroxyapatite which provides (carbonate) hydroxyapatite having low crystallinity with high purity through a one-stage reaction and is simple and good in productivity and a method of producing a fine particle of (carbonate) hydroxyapatite having low crystallinity and being suitable for coating applications.SOLUTION: A method of producing (carbonate) hydroxyapatite comprises mixing a calcium salt, a phosphate and a carbonate or a hydrogencarbonate in water, in a specified mol ratio and in the pH range of the reaction system of 5-10, to react together. A method of producing a fine particle of (carbonate) hydroxyapatite comprises subjecting (carbonate) hydroxyapatite obtained by the method of producing (carbonate) hydroxyapatite to a wet dispersion treatment using a medium mill.
