摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method of metal which is capable of permeating fullerene into a base material surface layer without depending on heating.SOLUTION: A surface treatment method of metal according to one embodiment of the present invention has a coating process of coating liquid 45 containing fullerene on a porous layer 41 of a base material surface layer 35 made of metal. It is preferable that the porous layer 41 be a layer obtained by nitriding the base material surface layer 35. It is further preferable that nitriding be salt bath nitriding in cyan-based treatment liquid. A surface treatment method of metal according to another aspect of the present invention has a porous layer forming process of forming the porous layer 41 on the base material surface layer 35, and the coating process of coating the liquid 45 containing fullerene on the porous layer 41. It is preferable that the method further have a permeation process of permeating lubricant after the coating process. Further, it is further preferable that the method further include a diffusion process of applying lubricant into the base material surface layer by friction after the permeation process.
