<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a new image rich in good taste by extracting a main subject image and a background image. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes a region division section which divides a target image that becomes a target of processing into a plurality of blocks, a setting section which sets a template on the basis of an image of a block existent in an outer circumferential portion, a calculation section which calculates a representative value for each of the plurality of blocks, a matching section which compares the representative value of the block of a matching target with a representative value in the template, a creation section which creates a map indicating a distribution of subjects in the target image on the basis of a result of matching, a first extraction section which extracts a main subject image from a plurality of target images on the basis of the map for each target image, a second extraction section which extracts a background image from arbitrary one target image among the plurality of target images on the basis of the map, and a production section which produces a new image based on at least one of the at least one main subject image extracted by the first extraction section and the background image extracted by the second extraction section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
