Provided is a sieving device capable of separation based on differences in cross-sectional diameter and separation based on differences in aspect ratio. The sieving device (1) is provided with a first sieving section (first sieve (30a), second sieve (30b)) having sieves in which multiple long holes or slits are formed. The device is provided with a second sieving section (third sieve (30c), fourth sieve (30d)) that is used after sieving in the first sieving section and has sieves configured from perforated plates. The pore diameter (d1) of the perforated plate configuring a sieve in the second sieving section is longer than the opening width (S1) of the long holes or slits of a sieve in the first sieving section. The sieves in the first sieving section are configured from wedge wire screens. The sieves in the second sieving section are configured from punched wire meshes with roughly circular holes.
