<p>Provided is an air conditioner which is able to have, for evaporation operation and condensation operation, the optimum number of refrigerant passages through which a refrigerant flows in a heat exchanger, and is configured such that heat exchanging performance can be improved in accordance with the wind velocity distribution of air passing through the heat exchanger. The air conditioner equipped with a refrigeration cycle is provided with refrigerant flow control mechanisms at the evaporation operation inlets of each section of a split heat exchanger, said refrigerant flow control mechanisms being provided so as to switch refrigerant passages according to the operating states of the heat exchanger, that is, according to whether the heat exchanger is in the evaporation operation or the condensation operation, and to control the flow rate of refrigerant in accordance with wind velocity distribution of air passing through the heat exchanger.</p> |
