PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately operate a combination part and an exposure setting part in response to receiving a combination command and an exposure setting command, and to prevent a user from being misunderstood by a response to each of the commands.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: a WDR image combination processing part 1006 for producing combination image data by combining a plurality of image data items which are produced by imaging a subject by means of an imaging part 1004; an exposure correction processing part 1005 for acquiring one image data item which is produced by imaging the subject by means of the imaging part 1004 under a preset exposure condition; and a control part 1001 which alternatively operates both the processing parts when a communication part 1003 receives the combination command for controlling operation of the WDR image combination processing part 1006 and the exposure setting command for controlling operation of the exposure correction processing part 1005. In the case where the combination command and the exposure setting command are received, the communication part 1003 transmits normal responses with respect to the commands.
