PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel indene-based copolymer excellent in heat resistance, a hydrogenated indene-based copolymer, a thermoplastic resin composition and a manufacturing method of the indene-based copolymer.SOLUTION: There is provided an indene-based copolymer having a first structural unit represented by the following formula (1-1) and a second structural unit derived from a conjugated diene monomer, or a hydrogenated indene copolymer by hydrogenating at least a part of an olefin bond of the copolymer.
