<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery type alarm capable of reducing the possibility of keeping using the alarm with an exhausted battery. <P>SOLUTION: A battery type alarm 1 driven by a battery warns about an abnormal state by outputting an alarm upon detecting the abnormal state. The battery type alarm 1 has a liquid crystal display 50 for displaying various kinds of information. The liquid crystal display 50 is a reflector type having a reflector 56 on the back face of a liquid crystal layer 53c so that the information can be viewed by using an external light.
