In this image acquisition device (1), a stage-driving unit (11) (drive unit) makes the position of the field of view of an objective lens (25) relative to a specimen move at a prescribed speed and a two-dimensional imaging element (6) captures sequential images of the specimen (S) at a prescribed frame rate. This reduces the amount of time it takes to acquire partial images of the entire specimen (S). Also, in this image acquisition device (1), the speed at which the field of view is moved is set on the basis of the frame rate of the imaging element (6). The movement of the field of view and the imaging performed by the imaging element (6) are thus synchronized, making it possible to capture only partial images that are needed. As a result, this image acquisition device (1) can acquire partial images and produce a composite overall image rapidly. |
