A smart television cursor control method and a cursor control device, whereof, when a character input field of a character input interface is in non-editing mode, the method comprises: reception from a remote control of a control signal and parsing thereof; if the control signal indicates that the cursor has moved into a character input field, triggering the editing mode of said field; determining whether a character string is already present in said character input field; if a character string is found to be present, determining the target location of a possible input error in said string; positioning the cursor at the target location on the string. The present smart television cursor control method and cursor control device make possible, on a character input interface, determination of the target location in a character string of a possible input error and positioning of the cursor at said target location, thus facilitating correction of any error in said character string within said character input field, improving the efficiency of such corrections, and reducing user input costs. |
