Provided is an inexpensive and small power conversion device that more easily discriminates an open-phase state in comparison with conventional techniques and can identify which phase is opened. The power conversion device comprises: a power converter for outputting three-phase AC power and driving an AC electric motor; a current detection unit for detecting at least two phase currents of the three phase output currents of the power converter; an edge conversion unit for converting the currents detected by the current detection unit into edges; and an edge discrimination unit for determining an open phase from the edges converted by the edge conversion unit. The power conversion device has such a configuration that the edge discrimination unit compares the converted edges with each other and detects at least one open phase. With this configuration, only detecting the currents of the two output phases of the power converter makes it possible to more easily discriminate an open-phase state and discriminate which phase is opened.
|
