According to an embodiment of the present invention, a display apparatus to which an error diffusion method is applied includes: an expansion variable extraction unit that receives an input image, which can be displayed, and extracts a histogram of a brightness level and an expansion variable which are needed to execute dynamic B&W extension stretching with respect to the input image; a gamma correction LUT unit (130) which stores gamma correction data to which the highest offset value applied to correct the brightness level; a gamma extension data generation unit (150) which generates an output image LUT, which applies the extension variable to the gamma correction to compress the gamma correction data into data bites, the display apparatus can display, to be output; and an error diffusion processor unit (170) which feeds back an error, generated when the output image LUT is compressed into the output image data bytes, to a horizontally adjacent pixel and a vertically adjacent pixel. |
