In a system using cross-bar switches controlled electronically in a manner similar to that described in Specification 1,011,508, group selection stages are located at a main exchange and subscriber selection stages at a satellite. A calling substation is connected (in a first routeselecting step known as " preselection ") through the subscriber selection stage to a junctor at the main exchange, the junctors forming the entries of routes extending through the group selection stage and the subscriber selection stage in cascade. In a final route-selecting step the seized junctor is connected to the called substation through the group selection stage and the subscriber selection stage. |
