A flexible hose comprises a continuous braided reinforcing sheath 26 surrounding a synthetic plastics tube which has at least one fluid tight joint therein. The joint may include a nipple 10 having an internal diameter equal to the internal diameter of the braided tubing and a socket 13 which is contracted on to the nipple 10 and tube by dies. The tube is preferably of P. T. F. E. and the nipple and socket of mertinsitic and austenitic steel respectively. |
