932,301. Recording television signals. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 7, 1961 [April 12, 1960], No. 12578/61. Class 40 (2). A split-spectrum magnetic recorder divides a television signal in a cross-over network 3 and feeds the higher frequency component to a head 6 engaging a magnetic drum 10 rotating at a speed of one revolution per raster. The lower frequency component is recorded on a relatively slower moving record which may comprise a smaller drum 11, concentric with the larger or (not illustrated) on a disc-form layer present on one or both side-faces of the drum 10. The heads may be selectively indexed to pairs of tracks 13, 14, corresponding to differing rasters. |
