The present invention relates to a display device (1) for an aircraft and to an aircraft comprising such device. The device (1) comprises an exterior first surface (4) forming a first side (2) of the device (1), an exterior second surface (5) forming a second side (3) of the device (1) opposite the first side (2), a display means adapted for displaying images on a display surface (10) which is arranged such that it constitutes at least a portion of the first surface (4), at least one electrical and/or data terminal (17a, 17b) for connection to a mating connector (21a, 21b) of a cable (20a, 20b), and a housing arrangement (11) to which the display means and the at least one terminal (17a, 17b) are mounted. The second surface (5) is a portion of the housing arrangement (11) and comprises an engagement portion (22) extending in a plane and being arranged such that the device (1) can be mounted to a planar wall of an aircraft with the engagement portion (22) in contact with the wall. The second surface (5) comprises at least one recess (16), wherein each of the at least one terminal (17a, 17b) is arranged completely in one of the at least one recess (16) in such a manner that the respective terminal (17a, 17b) is facing in a direction transverse to a surface normal of the engagement portion (22).
