An image forming apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a main frame; an image forming unit which is installed to the main frame and includes a support unit and a developing member; a contact separation unit which selectively touches and separates the support unit and the developing unit; a lever member which is installed to an end of the contact separation unit to move the contact separation unit and can move between a contact position which moves the contact separation unit to allows the support unit to touch the developing unit and a separation position which moves the contact separation unit to allow the support unit to be separated from the developing unit; and a waste developer tank which is detachable from the main frame and has a lever member receiving groove for receiving the lever member when the lever member is in the contact position. When the main frame is separated from the waste developer tank, the support unit is separated from the developing member by the contact separation unit.
