A feed device for a mincer, having a feed funnel 10 mounted above a mincing tool 5, 6 rapidly rotatable about a vertical axis, comprises a conical or mushroomshaped hood 16 mounted in the funnel 10 to provide a narrow annular feed gap 18 and a rapidly rotatable conveyer 14, 15 mounted below the gap 18. The rotatable cutting tool comprises a ring of blades 6 mounted on a bottom plate 5 driven by a motor 2 through a shaft 3, and a fixed cutting ring 11 is located in a tool housing cover 8. The conveyer may comprise an upright cone 15 having longitudinal ribs 14 (Fig. 1) or alternatively having spiral ribs or grooves. Several hoods 24, 25, 26 (Fig. 3) providing corresponding gaps 27, 28, 29 may be mounted one above the other, each hood 24, 25, 26 having an associated conveyer such as 21, 14 or 22, 19 or 23, 14, and the hoods and conveyers being rotatable with the cutting tool 5, 6 by means of a base-plate 13 which is securable to the bottom plate 5. The base plate 13 may be provided on its upper face with material conveying grooves or ribs. The detachable hood 30 (Fig. 4) may be provided with ribs or grooves 36 and the grooves 36 may be provided with through slots 37. Various recommended dimensions and relative sizes for the device are given. |
