A template for a utilities fitting for example for use in positioning and/or orientating an electrical socket 100 on a surface. The template has four outer edges 111, 112, 113 & 114 which form a physical guide which can be scribed around. The outer edges at least partially correspond to at least one dimension of a utilities fitting. The template comprises a visual guide 130 for positioning and/or orientating the template on a surface. The physical guide at least partially surrounds the visual guide. The visual guide may be an opening, a transparent part, markings, a spirit level or a combination. A method for positioning and/or orientating a utilities fitting on a surface using such a template is also described. |
