发明名称 Improvements in or relating to cross-flow fans
摘要
943,765. Bearings. FIRTH CLEVELAND Ltd. Nov. 16, 1959 [Nov. 17, 1958], No. 18044/62. Divided out of 942,537. Heading F2A. [Also in Division F1] In a transverse flow fan, the drive is supplied to the impeller at one end only, and the impeller is flexibly supported at the other end. The shaft 7 of the driving motor is connected to the impeller 1 through a ring 5 of rubber, nylon or other flexible material. The ring 5 has a peripheral groove to engage around a hole in an end disc 10 of the impeller, and has a central portion of reduced thickness engaging a groove 6 in the shaft 7. The frictional engagement between the ring 5 and the groove 6 may be sufficient to transmit the drive. Alternatively, the drive may be transmitted through a pin 12 secured to the shaft 7 and engaging lugs 11 projecting from the ring 5. At the other end of the impeller, a stub shaft 14 rigidly secured to an impeller end disc 15 is journalled in a bearing 19 carried by a flexible rubber diaphragm 16 riveted to a support 18. A ball 24 engaging a spherical depression in the stub shaft 14 limits end play of the stub shaft. In a modification, the bearing is rigidly connected to its support, and the stub shaft is attached to the impeller through a corrugated diaphragm of thin metal or plastics material. Specifications 757,543, 876,611, 943,766 and 943,767 also are referred to.
