A controller (6, fig 7) and method (fig 14) for adjusting a display 10 on a Head Up Display HUD (7, fig 7), wherein the controller obtains head position information 31 of a user 30 from a detector unit 5, and based on that information, estimates whether content displayed on the HUD is causing an obstruction (S1402, fig 14). If an obstruction is estimated, the controller generates an adjustment command to adjust the display and reduce the level of obstruction (S1403, fig 14). The obstruction may be reduced by moving an image on the display to other locations 10a, 10b & 10c, or may change the saturation, hue, luminosity, contrast or degree of animation of a portion of, or all of the display. The controller may, as a dependent feature of the controller, or as an alternative second independent aspect of the application, estimate whether content displayed on the HUD is distorted due to a different viewing angle or perspective of the user, and apply a reverse-distortion processing based on the information. |
