935,234. Two-part couplings. BURNDY CORPORATION. Dec. 29, 1961 [Jan. 3, 1961], No. 46548/61. Class 38 (1). A connector comprises an insulating housing 11, 13 having contact receiving bores 17, 19 between the ends of which is disposed a resilient insulating sheet 23 having holes 25 smaller than said bores and axially aligned with said bores. Connector contacts 7 are positioned in the front part 11 of the housing in longitudinal bores 17, and project into a communicating transverse recess 15 to contact circuits on the edge of a printed circuit board. External pins 9 enter bores 19 in the rear part 13 of the housing, and are forced through holes 25 in sheet 23 to engage sockets 21 on contacts 7. The sheet 23 holds pins 9 in position by snapping back to closely surround grooves 27 in pins 9 after flanges 29 have passed through holes 25. |
