1. A chewing gum composition comprising, based on the total weight of the composition:
(a) 0.01 to 1% by weight of cannabidiol, provided within internal voids of a solid cellulose carrier; (b) 25 to 85% by weight of a gum base comprising a buffering agent selected from the group consisting of acetates, glycinates, phosphates, carbonates, glycerophosphates, citrates, borates, and mixtures thereof; (c) 10 to 35% by weight of at least one sweetening agent selected from the group consisting of xylitol, sorbitol, isomalt, aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, and saccharin; (d) 1 to 10% by weight of flavouring agents selected from the group consisting of menthol flavor, eucalyptus, mint flavor and/or L-menthol; and wherein 30% by weight of the cannabidiol is released within 5 minutes after ingestion, based on the total weight content of the cannabidiol in the chewing gum composition, and wherein the release starts within 3 minutes after ingestion. |
